creatures.

That was me. Reading this quote one random day on the net, from a stranger.

I thought to myself, damn, life feels so obvious and trivial to us all humans because we live mostly a good life, every day, and yet for the animals in what is the real form of mother Nature, life is brutal.

Why don’t we appreciate life? Or rather, the good life that we have.

Have you ever felt overwhelmed? Your blood feels as if it is boiling, every breath is rough and ineffective, you feel like you’re done. You will die. You are a goner. Your life ends now, or maybe later, but there’s no point anymore because why bother? Your fate is already written. Maybe you have a disease that’s slowly but quickly enough eating you from the inside. Maybe you did something you shouldn’t have done and now society is going to claim your head.

But you are still alive.

You glaze outside the window. The sun is up in the blue sky. There’s a light breeze that goes over your skin. It usually feels good. It should feel good.

However, may the the hedonistic adaptation be damned and blessed, it is “just” what normal life feels like. It doesn’t feel special. It is not enough for you to make you live in the moment. To really feel it.

At this point, you aren’t even sad, you don’t even want to cry. You were scared before, but it starts to fade away. Apathy. You feel the void.

A void so overwhelming that it feels unpalatable. And there is nothing to do about it. Maybe it’s the curse of being “the superior species”. Nothing is perfect, they say. What made you think that human beings are the sole exception?

Thanks for reading Kiryoko’s Journey! Whether that’s a “luckily” or “sadly” is left to the reader to ponder about.

You once were happy as a child for your parents shielded you from the bad. Or maybe you shielded yourself from the blatant brutality of the world and thinking there were good actors trying to protect you is part of the act. It doesn’t matter anyway, because the past cannot be walked a second time.

Happiness. I longed for it wildly. I was probably wrong. Are you free? Nobody is free. I thought everyone needs to have a dream. A dream so high that if you try to chase it you shoot for another galaxy and will end up on the stars. Makes sense, right? Nobody is truly free in this manifestation of the existence. I chased it for real, and it probably landed my higher than I’d ever expect. I’m still not happy, though.

That’s not to say I’m sad. Quite the contrary, at most, I could say I feel the void. An overwhelming void. Sometimes I wake up and I’m just tired, but I still keep going. Where, I do not know, but surely it is forward.

Okay, I lied. Sometimes I go backward. You got me, I lied again earlier. I was happy when I was a kid. I wish I could go back to those emotions and the freedom I felt. Don’t get me wrong! I know full well that I likely wouldn’t be “pleased” with the things I was doing as a kid. Life changes, and so do I. But the emotions, the feeling of freedom. That’s what I long for.

Even those folks who live a simple life and are content are not truly free. Yet they live a good life. That’s probably the first time I truly felt envy toward someone else.

And, in the end, you realize that the void, which feels so unpalatable, so unbearable, doesn’t make any sense. Because, after all, what might even matter a few lively years among millions of years of evolution and frens?

Thanks for reading Kiryoko’s Journey! No pain in your knees, heavy breathing, no weird shit happening to your body, even though you are in your twenties.

How crazy is it not to be able to do so? And, honestly, I think this should be something people can still do in their 40s, even their 50s, or 60s!

Something that comes naturally to humans. We jump with euphoria when we’re happy. We jump on stuff when we are kids. We jump because it’s fun.

I love to jump, even if it’s for no reason. Reflecting on it today, I realized that I want to be able to jump even when I’m older.

You ask why? Well, why would I not? It gives me joy.

I think this might have subconsciously been a contributing factor to “why I like to work out and train my body”, even though I never realized it until now.

And there are many other reasons, I’m sure! I want to be able to move! Moving is fun! Running is fun!

And, mind you, this doesn’t have to be hard, nor time-consuming, nor expensive.

What’s expensive is the place you’ll be—i.e., your health-related costs as you age—if you keep falling into the bottomless pit of the current age (yes, we’re all inevitably in the pit already, but you can climb back up if you WANT to).

Modern society, desk jobs, lazy lifestyles, and technology all contributed to normalizing the ‘weakness’ epidemic.

“Yooo! But you can do that crazy stuff because you work out so much!”

Bro, on average, I work out 3 times per week. Usually 1 hour per workout, sometimes 1.5 hours. That’s 4.5 hours per week, that’s nothing!

How many hours do you waste (yes, waste, not spend) on social media every DAY?

And yet, you can’t find even 30 minutes every few days to move your body?

If you are in that position, you have no right to complain. You have no right to judge.

“But gym memberships are sooo expensive!”

Let us not kid ourselves. If you sit 12+ hours and walk less than 5k steps per day, plus you have never trained, I GUARANTEE you that you DO NOT need any expensive equipment to start training your body!

You have become so weak (but you can fix this quite fast!) that your own body is enough when you start training.

This is actually good news. You can improve A LOT with just your bodyweight!

It’s also 2025, and the information is essentially free. Just look up stuff on Google or YouTube.

You’re too lazy to even look for stuff yourself? Ask ChatGPT to craft a flexible bodyweight workout schedule for a complete beginner, tailored to your own situation. That’s free as well.

You see, it’s not the cost, the time, or any other bullshit excuse you can and will come up with.

It’s all just about loving and respecting yourself, your body, and especially your future self.

And that’s all, for now. You don’t have to prove anything to me. Because, after all, it’s your life you’re ruining, not mine!

Cheers, and stay fit!

Take Profits, But Sell For sell and end up round-tripping it.

Even worse. Sometimes people roundtrip it several times across many years.

But remember, anon:

Nobody ever went bankrupt by taking profits.

It’s good to learn to never be too greedy. Take profits along the way. Take back initials. Take some money off your stack to pay some of your debt or to have some liquidity.

Peace of mind is priceless. Nobody is going to help you when you’ll need to sell your Bitcoin at the bottom of the range because you went all in and didn’t have enough spare to pay your bills.

That being said, if you’re an investor, there is not much point in actualizing a huge chunk of your profits and stack to fiat.

Sure, you can take profits and sell everything at the top of the cycle.

But do you sell for what?

Thanks for reading Kiryoko’s Journey! The “best currency” out there thanks to its status as the “world reserve currency”, and yet it’s down 99% against Bitcoin.

Even gold, despite keeping up with inflation, pales against what Bitcoin has achieved.

So, anon, my question is very simple: what do you sell your Bitcoin (or any other volatile therefore profitable asset) for when your portfolio is up like crazy?

Here I am talking about preserving your wealth across decades, and it’s not a trivial answer or task at all.

Surely we can’t count on fiat, real estate is more of another side hustle rather than passive investment, and precious metals are just facing a slower death compared to the aforementioned options.

Not to talk about taxes! If you invest $100k in an asset that goes up by 20% in a few years, and then in the same timeframe the money supply went up by 20%, you will sell the asset for $120k, but taxes will eat you alive.

Let me explain. Let’s say you pay 20% taxes on capital gains in your country, thus you’ll pay $4k on your $20k profit and net a $14k profit (on paper).

However, because of currency debasement and inflation, the $120k now have the same purchasing power of the $100k back then when you bought!

Can you see the issue? You didn’t gain anything. In fact, you lost “money” in terms of absolute purchasing power.

This is how governments forcibly but silently take wealth away from the masses.

The only way to escape this faith (legally, and without moving abroad lol) is to invest your savings into an asset that can outpace—and will keep on doing so for years on end—the rate at which currency debasement happens.

In other words, if your assets are barely surviving the inflation rate, you’re cooked.

You want something that’s actually going up over time in terms of purchasing power.

That’s why they say “HODL forever“ and “you don’t sell your Bitcoin“.

It’s not that simple, though, because most people are not Bitcoin maxis. Not all people are youngsters that can afford to wait 10 years if we suddenly face a major winter and downtrend.

There is no such a thing as a risk-free investment. But Bitcoin is probably the best long-term risk-adjusted asset to invest in.

As much as I hate to admit it, as much as I hate the term “diversification”, as much as I hate “to hedge”… I have a part of my portfolio in other hard assets (though not as hard as BTC), just so that if an emergency happens I won’t have to liquidate my Bitcoin.

For me, this strategy works the best, and ultimately it lets me put away more money from my cash flow into growing the size of my stack.

Now, throughout the years, if we keep stacking sats, we will be reaching a point after which we have enough money to sustain our lifestyle for a couple of decades.

That’s when I’ll take bigger profits off the table. Put some of it away to be able to live off of it. It’s ok if this part is in way less volatile assets that just “barely survive“ inflation. Its purpose is not to make us rich nor more money.

Just remember, never go all in, but neither all out!

Obsession Is My New technologies arise every day. Did you notice it, anon?

It's becoming increasingly clear that software developers are the true architects of our era. In the past, the greatest empires built their weapons, structures, and castles with bricks or stones. But today, you see an ethereal empire built on the internet.

Every device you use has at least a bit of electronics, all powered by code. If you're a software developer, you have the power to create value from nothing.

Sure. This power is abstract, but it is immensely potent.

But let me explain with a real example.

Consider building a house. If you need to change parts of it mid-construction, you'd have to tear it down and start over, the costs and time spent would be insurmountable. In contrast, rebuilding is quick and cost-effective when developing a program, especially in the prototyping or MVP phase.

The Invisible Power

There are places where we can see even more directly the power of what I’ve been pondering on until now, even though at first glance it might be so indirect that it might not be noticed by the uninitiated.

Let me give you an example.

Consider your car. Surely it’s not governed by software, right? Wrong. It's no longer a mechanical system alone. When you press the brakes, there's an 'if' statement somewhere deciding whether you actually stop. This level of control underscores the unseen influence of software developers, a power that society has yet to fully comprehend.

There are countless many more examples I could talk about.

If you're a CEO, you should think carefully about the authority you grant your CTO. A tech co-founder holds the keys to your empire.

This becomes even more evident with the rise of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. A realm where quite literally “code is law”. Just as the ancient gods dictated the laws of physics, developers write the rules governing blockchain and cryptocurrencies in code.

Every rule above the primary system constraints on a blockchain is defined by smart contract code. Even the fundamental protocol rules were crafted by software developers.

If you can write a program, you wield immense power. Knowledge is power, and coding is knowledge.

This power becomes concerning when considering that AI models are increasingly proficient at generating, editing, and improving code. The idea of entrusting such power to systems that can be manipulated by criminals gives me the chills.

Yes, by criminals I mean the government, corrupted politicians, people without a sense of honor. The ones that are above. The people pulling the strings.

Defining our Future

As a software developer or aspiring one, you look at a life above average.

You can (and hopefully will) create great software because the world needs it. The demand is staggering. Anything can be improved with automation and technology.

It's about designing the future. Every line of code you write shapes the world in profound ways.

This isn't an exaggeration. Consider the social media platforms that dominate our daily lives. They started as simple ideas, lines of code strung together by visionary developers.

Now, they influence global politics, economics, and culture.

Developers' influence has been growing steadily and quickly since the dawn of internet and even accelerated drastically since the dotcom bubble era.

It becomes clear that developers are not just cogs in the machine, like most people are. Developers are the machine. Or rather, what powers it and keeps it alive and flourishing.

With the ability to iterate quickly, they can pivot and adapt in ways that traditional industries just cannot do or sustain.

The democratization of software development has also led to a surge in open-source projects, where the collective intelligence of the developer community is harnessed.

This is where true innovation happens. In these collaborative spaces, groundbreaking technologies emerge, often driven by passion rather than profit.

Harnessing the Power

Coding should be taught in schools, just like writing.

At its core, coding is problem-solving. It teaches you to break down problems into manageable pieces and tackle them from various angles. It builds resilience.

Most of the time, code does not compile or run on the first try. When it finally does, initial tests often fail. We constantly fix things, becoming accustomed to rejection and failure.

This process sharpens the mind, making it resilient.

Coding goes beyond being simply a technical skill. It’s also a philosophical one.

It forces you to confront the nature of reality, to deconstruct and reconstruct it through logic and creativity.

This is why coding should be taught early, to instill a mindset of critical thinking and resilience. It teaches you to face failure head-on, to iterate and improve. Until you succeed.

This is a life skill, a mindset that breeds innovation and perseverance.

Programmers do not give up. There is always a way to solve a problem. We always find a way. This is the true essence of being a software developer.

You hold the power to change the world. What will you create?

Thanks for reading Kiryoko’s Journey!
